Mental health services at Meuhedet are offered nationwide through several treatment channels.

If you are not yet receiving mental health treatment but are interested in beginning the process, you have several options.

1. Treatment at a Meuhedet clinic: Meuhedet clinics that offer mental health services are spread out across Israel. The treatment you receive may be psychological (talk therapy) or psychiatric (with medications). In certain situations, you may charged a nominal fee: a visit by a participating specialist. Treatment always begins after a triage appointment with a mental health specialist who will determine your needs and condition. 2. Patients at public clinics, hospital outpatient clinics, and associations: These patients may receive psychological and psychiatric treatment at clinics associated with psychiatric hospitals or associations. Treatment is given free of charge. Similarly, you can receive mental health treatment at the outpatient clinics of general hospitals, but in this case treatment is for a nominal fee, not free of charge. The copay cost is the visiting fee. In any case, this type of treatment also begins after a triage appointment in which your needs and condition have been evaluated by a mental health professional. 3. Online psychological treatment. Talk therapy - psychotherapy (only), provided through video chats with a mental health caregiver. Patients have one set caregiver, as in traditional treatment, and patients can see and hear the caregiver in a comfortable and private environment. The conversations use a secure, dedicated internet connection. Treatment is given free of charge. 4. Private caregivers, with individual copays for each appointment: Psychiatric treatment only given by specialist psychologists or clinical social workers (psychotherapists) in their private clinics. A triage appointment is not required. To schedule your first appointment, register here and select Appointing a Therapist. You will decide the date for your first appointment together. Reimbursement for treatment by private specialists is authorized by a professional at Meuhedet (after an assessment of the caregivers).

If you are already receiving treatment and require followup, you can register for psychiatric follow-up through the service center at *3833 without a triage appointment.

Meuhedet Hiram, a treatment center to prevent psychiatric hospitalization

This treatment center, a joint venture from Meuhedet and the Hiram association, is located in Hardof Kibbutz in the north of Israel. It allows people facing acute mental health crises to avoid hospitalization and recover in a communal living environment away from home.

The treatment process at Hiram, combining medical, psychological, and social approaches, is given by a multidisciplinary team and a team of guides who are with the patient 24/7. The treatment concept is centered on a speedy recovery and return to functioning in the framework of a set daily program through community involvement, agricultural activities, and creative workshops. 

Treatment is given free of charge and is entirely subsidized by Meuhedet. This treatment is authorized by a mental health team at Meuhedet and Hiram who consider the patient’s clinical state and their opinion on the standard and suitability of treatment being offered.
