Proactive location of Holocaust survivors in Meuhedet, who are in a complex medical state, as well as proactive location of Holocaust survivors who have not been in touch with anyone from the medical staff over the past year.
Assisting the survivor population in exhausting their rights within and outside of Meuhedet.
In order for us to be able to provide service and assistance to as many people as possible, we are making an appeal toyou, survivors and/or family members to come to us, to the Meuhedet social workers- for consultation and information on the subject.
Information regarding rights and services for Holocaust survivors
The information regarding the rights of Holocaust survivors is complex and is frequently updated.
Up-to-date information can be found on the website of the Holocaust Survivors Authority at the Ministry of Finance, and on the website of the NPO Aviv for Holocaust Survivors.
Exemption from payment for medications for Holocaust survivors
All Holocaust survivors are eligible for exemption from payment for medications that are in the medicine basket.
Survivors recognized as disabled by virtue of the Persons Disabled in War against the Nazis Law or by virtue of the Persons Disabled by Nazi Persecutions Law are exempt from payment for medicines that are not in the medicine basket, if they are intended for the treatment of the injury in regards to which the survivor was recognized as disabled by the Ministry of Finance on the matter of the disability.
The Fund for the Welfare of Holocaust Victims in Israel
The fund provides assistance in the following areas:
Short-term nursing care at a scope of 50 hours on condition that the Holocaust survivor is not eligible for the Nursing Law from the National Insurance Institute and on condition that he/she is hospitalized or situated in a community and meets the criteria of eligibility. The assistance can be activated by contacting the social worker at the clinic or the social worker in the hospital department, in the event of hospitalization.

An addition of 9 weekly hours of nursing care for patients approved for the National Insurance nursing benefit at a scope of at least 150%. For extra hours contact the social worker at the clinic/social worker at the welfare department.

Psychological support for Holocaust survivors
Currently there are three active organizations providing individual or group psychological support for Holocaust survivors. The treatment is free of charge and requires approval from the Holocaust Survivors Authority. In cases in which the Holocaust survivor is confined to his/her home, the psychological treatment can be provided at home. Requests for assistance can be addressed directly to the organizations listed below, or through the social worker at the clinic:
